Narrated by the ever-curious sock puppets, Salvador and Maria, this review dives into the whirlwind that was KidSuper's SS25 show, 'IT'S ALL UP IN THE AIR. With robotic hands, towering stilts, marionette-like models, and jaw-dropping performances by Cirque du Soleil, this show was nothing short of surreal. Huge thanks to Colm and the ‪KidSuper‬ team for supporting me with this video! Let me know your thoughts on the collection.

Karma: Looking back at the KidSuper SS25 show, are there any pieces that stand out to you as your personal favourites?

Colm: "There were so many pieces in the SS25 collection that I loved, but if I had to pick a few standouts, I'd say the patchwork leather suit was a favourite. It had that perfect mix of craftsmanship and chaos that I love—something that feels meticulously put together but also completely unpredictable. Another piece that really stuck with me was the jacquard suit featuring my artwork. I’ve always been obsessed with making paintings wearable, and seeing that piece come to life on the runway, mixed with all the movement and theatrics, was a surreal moment. It felt like a true KidSuper statement: fashion meets art meets absolute madness."

Karma: “IT’S ALL UP IN THE AIR” was a massive creative and logistical undertaking. What were the biggest challenges you faced leading up to the show, and how did you overcome them?

Colm: "Honestly, the whole thing was a logistical nightmare—in the best way possible. Anytime you bring in elements like puppetry, performance art, and a whole Cirque du Soleil-level production, you’re dealing with a million moving pieces, literally. The biggest challenge was syncing everything so that the fashion, the movement, and the storytelling all felt cohesive. The strings and puppetry elements had to function smoothly while still allowing the clothes to shine. We had a few moments during rehearsals where things were getting tangled—both literally and figuratively—but that’s all part of the process. In the end, it came down to working with an incredible team, a lot of late-night problem-solving, and embracing the chaos rather than fighting it."

Karma: As we look forward to the KidSuper AW25 show this Saturday, can we expect any elements from SS25 to carry over, or are you planning a complete shift in direction for the new collection?

Colm: "Every KidSuper show is a new adventure, so while the themes and storytelling approach will always carry over, I never want to repeat myself. AW25 is going to be different, but there’s always that underlying KidSuper DNA—art, unexpected collaborations, and a little bit of absurdity."
